What Initiative Were Taken? : Sanitisation Of Public Spaces, Telemedicine & Drone surviellance

Details : GMC, along with the police, revenue, and health departments, is tracking the suspected COVID- 19 patients, Disinfection of all quarantine houses, COVID-19 containment zones, public places is done on a regular basis. GMC has given directions to all the grocery stores to provide home deliveries for the essential goods in order to maintain social distancing. To facilitate the migrant workers and encourage them not to travel to their hometowns by risking their own and their family’s life, GMC has established a shelter home in the city. GMC has established a helpline number, i.e. 8141800751 to provithe facility of telemedicine and e-counselling through video call.

Outcome : Gandhinagar Municipal Corporation (GMC) has been undertaking various measures in coordination with various departments and civil society organisations to combat COVID-19 and facilitate the citizens to manage the lockdown. A drone surveillance has been undertaken in Gandhinagar by the police to check any violation of rules amidst this lockdown. This aerial surveillance has allowed a contact less watch on the people to ensure the rules are being followed. Those who are found violating the rules are being penalised as per the law.
