What Initiative Were Taken? : Aiding livelihoods of SHG women through masks production: Andhra Pradesh

Details : Under MEPMA, Andhra Pradesh, more than 13,000 SHG members in 100 clusters are working round the clock with a target of producing 1,00,000 face masks per day per District. The Self Help Groups are stitching masks at the rate of Rs. 3.50 per masks, by which on an average each member is earning an amount of Rs 500 every day. Over 1 crore masks have been produced and handed over to the district officials to distribute free among the citizens of the state to fight the COVID-19. While helping the society at large, this project for masks production, in turn, aids in sustaining the livelihoods of SHGs amid lockdown.
