PMAY (Urban) Celebrates International Women Day on 8th March 2020

Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Urban) [PMAY(U)], celebrated International Women’s Day on 8th March 2020 through events across States/UTs.  The mission in true spirit has been the torch bearer of women empowerment.  It has  been programmatically designed to mandate a PMAY (U) house to be in the name of female head of the household or in the joint name.

On this occasion PMAY (U) through its States/UTs  acknowledged all women beneficiaries who have excelled as home makers, women construction workers, Rani Mistris, entrepreneurs, professionals etc.  They have contributed significantly to the Mission, welfare of the society and country subsequently.   An earnest effort was put by States/UTs to honour and appreciate them on International Women’s day.  Excerpts of events and key initiatives  can be viewed here through photographs.
